Vintage Kittinger Mahogany Four Drawer Chest
Vintage Kittinger Mahogany Four Drawer Chest. This chest measures 35" high and it is 38" wide and 21 deep. It is constructed of Mahogany. The sides and top are solid wood while the drawers are veneer. This chest retains its original solid brass hardware which is very handsome.
The drawers are dovetail construction and they work very smoothly. The drawer slides show little wear. It has been refinished and it now has 6 coats or satin finish varnish that has been hand rubbed. This piece is in very good condition. There is one spot on the top drawer near the left handle where there is a scratch.There was also a small piece of veneer (about the size of a dime) that was missing under the handle on the lower drawer. That has been filled and colored to match the mahogany veneer. I have photographed this for you to see.
Three of the drawers have dividers that are made of oak which are original and easily slide out to be removed if you wish. This piece is marked in two places, there is a branded mark inside the top drawer and a paper label inside the chest under the top drawer on the dust panel.
