Small Antique English Georgian Flame Mahogany Bachelors Chest of Drawers (Circa 1760). This is a superb quality small antique English George III solid flame mahogany Bachelors chest of drawers, circa 1760 - 1780, in excellent original condition. The chest has been cleaned and traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop.

Featuring an exquisite single plank mahogany top, above a bank of five graduated drawers. The drawers are constructed with hand dovetailed oak drawer linings, oak drawer bottoms and cock beaded detail. The drawers feature the original brass swan neck handles, with the original working locks and a working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on the original well shaped original mahogany bracket feet.

The back of the chest retains the original pine back boards. This item stands firm on the ground, is solid in joint and ready to use. The chest features a lovely rich mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This chest would look superb in a variety of rooms, from the hallway to the bedroom. This chest would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. This Georgian mahogany chest of drawers is in excellent original condition. Nominal old used marks to the leading edges and top, sides and frame but nothing significant and out of the ordinary, considering the age of the item please see detailed photos for closer inspection.
