It is our pleasure to present, for your consideration, this rare Neoclassical Egyptian Revival Flame Mahogany Chest of Drawers with Fully Carved Egyptian Figures and Acanthus Carved Paw Feet (Circa: 1840). The lovely chest weighs approximately 80 pounds and measures 37 ¼ in total height (from the floor to the top), 46 ¼ in width, and 21 in depth. It has all of the design details that one would expect from a Neoclassical Egyptian Revival Piece! This handsome two over three-drawer Neoclassical Egyptian Revival Flame Mahogany Chest is graced with lovely flame mahogany accents throughout. Ample storage is found in the five dovetailed drawers. The two top drawers and two of the larger drawers have brass knob pulls, brass key escutcheons and intact locks with a working key while the bottom drawer never had a lock, only brass knob pulls and a brass key escutcheon. You will notice the lovely heavy brass ormolu that is found on the sides of the two top drawers.

Finally, two fully fashioned ebonized and gold-gilt Egyptian figural Columns on the sides culminate into powerful gold-gilt Acanthus Carved Paw Front Feet which provide additional elegance and presence to complete this rare and beautiful Chest. Novice antique collectors should be aware that any antique over 100 years old will have some type(s) of slight or minor imperfections or marks of character. It is exactly these time-acquired features that intrigue collectors to ponder about how the piece must have been used and by whom.
