Kittinger Mahogany Bachelors Chest
Look at this exquisite Kittinger Bachelors Chest. Brass plaque identifies this chest as Pattern B2103-L. Solid mahogany with fluted canted front corners, egg and dart molding surrounding the base, resting on bracket feet. There are four full-length drawers with dovetailing and two Colonial brass pulls on each.
The top drawer has four sections separated by removable wood dividers. Kittinger Furniture Company of Buffalo, NY, was selected by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation to be the exclusive licensee for true reproductions of their original antiques. The relationship lasted from 1937 to 1990 during which time over three hundred antiques were reproduced. This Bachelors Chest is a fine example of that craftsmanship. Excellent condition for it's age with the exception of some minimal loss of wood on very edges of top which has been color-restored.
