The open dovetail structure locks the dense mahogany primary woods of the case together. Two rows of two drawers are situated over a single large drawer, each with original bail pull hardware to match the handles on the sides of the case. The drawer construction is typical of the period with pine secondary woods carefully dovetailed at the joints and the drawer bottoms running perpendicular to the drawer face.
The chest rests over untouched original bracket feet with original corner blocking. It retains an old tag from Sumpter Priddy III, Inc. Measurements: 13 1/8" H x 11 1/4" D x 26 W. Condition Report: Old and partially original finish; surface wear as expected, including some scratches to the upper left drawer face and an old ring on the top where something sat at one point (this has mostly disappeared into the surface patina). Upper right drawer with a lip loss at the corner.Entirely pure structure - some pine strips applied to interior of two drawers and along vertical drawer divider to seal gaps.
