Empire Antique 1840s Flame Grain Mahogany Chest or Dresser #47989. An Empire period chest of drawers or dresser dates from around 1840. Flame grain mahogany with bookmatched drawer fronts. Top surface has been refinished for durability. The rest of the old varnish has been cleaned and preserved with a coat of clear finish.

Mars, surface irregularities, various repairs, & shrinkage separations from age - see photos. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and hand chamfered bottoms.

Large pieces will require physical help from the homeowner to unload in these states.
