Antique Queen Anne TIGER MAPLE HIGHBOY Chest of Drawers. Carved Shell. USA 1820

Deeply carved central concave shell. On the sides, the frame is wood pegged with tiger maple. 8 drawers (see dimensions below). The base on which the chest of drawers sits has a serpentine edge. The piece may be a marriage of the lower and upper pieces, or a remodel; the two pieces appear to be made at the same time.
