Antique Martha Washington Mahogany Spool Sewing Cabinet Chest Side Table Stand

An eye catching turn of the 20th century Martha Washington sewing table. Made from mahogany with three dovetailed drawers having crotched veneer fronts and faceted glass pulls. Features demilune hinged side pockets and square tapered legs. The name of this iconic, yet petite, cabinet comes from Mrs. Washington who was said to have had a sewing cabinet that she could sit at to sew.

Some descriptions tell of a simple work table with shelves and a space to sit at - much like a modified desk. Very Good; Gently Used, marking and distressing adding rich history and character.
