Antique Inlaid Mahogany Apothecary Chest Cabinet Complete with Bottles Etc. Here we have a wonderful antique mahogany Campaign apothecary's chest / cabinet which is nicely strung with ebony. The lid opens to reveal twenty bottles within sectioned compartments. Below this there are two drawers, the first drawer has three lidded compartments and bone spoon and various poison labels over a second fitted drawer with apothecary scales, a measure, glass pestle and mortar, two lidded tin compartments, eleven bottles, bone spoon and a superb set of apothecary weights. 10 inches / 25.5 cm wide including handles x 9 1/4 inches / 23.5 cm deep x 10 1/2 inches / 26.5 cm high. CONDITION: The chest is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs but there crack to rear of top, dents and scratches throughout.

With age and use, interior lining worn, bottles basically sound though with some signs of wear / scratching. With age and use and in the top section the stopper are free in 10 of the bottles and fast in the remaining bottles. In the bottom drawer all the stoppers are free in the bottles.

Section of beading to left rear side corner missing. Top drawer with covers, handles missing on the large compartment, base drawer with various fittings, some with minor scratching etc conducive with use and age. The tin containers with signs of rust, silver funnel with denting to the base of spout. Also the drawer lock pin is missing.
