Antique FRENCH 19th 20th C MARBLE TOP Dresser Chest EMPIRE Directoire COMMODE

From a New York City estate, we have the pleasure to offer you this beautiful late 19th early 20th Century Marble Top Commode. This beauty comes in Empire Directoire style, straight clean sophisticated display dresser chest.

The piece stands on 4 straight tapering legs, fitted with the bronze coasters on the bottom. Front features 3 large drawers going down the middle. Top drawer has a key hole mount in the center, flanked with 2 gorgeous period pulls, and on the inside it has it's own original bronze functioning lock. Piece is made of the most beautiful, healthy vivid color rich Mahogany wood. It is topped with its original hand cut and beveled marble in a rare extinct antique mix of burgundy with purple and white.

Good condition overall, shows less then expected age / use wear, one corner of the marble has an antique repair (please see the photos). Size of this beauty is 50" wide, 20.5" deep and 35.75 height.
