With our highest compliments we're proud to offer for sale this exceptional 20th century Chippendale antique style mahogany dresser / chest of drawers by Maitland Smith. Founded in 1979 Maitland Smith has been producing the highest quality contemporary furniture and decorative arts of timeless 17th & 18th century designs.

The company slogan holds true across the board. This chest is in very great condition and looks showroom fresh. We pulled this out of a CT estate where it was highly treasured and meticulously cared for. The dresser has a great serpentine form present throughout the body and drawer faces.

This is a special grade of mahogany with a plum pudding figuring present throughout the item. The chest has two half upper serpentine form drawers over 3 serpentine full drawers all accented with cock bead molded faces. Maitland Smith is highly regarded for their brass work and quality of castings. These drawers have 8 absolutely beautiful highly detailed reeded pulls with fantastic cast rosette back plates. The vertical columns flanking the front feature a magnificent bust of a woman in classical dress adorned with floral decorations.

The casting then transitions to an exceptional series of tapering bell flowers and acanthus leafs. The brass mounts absolutely glow. The artisans at Maitland smith aim to produce the most unique and elegant furniture available.

With large case pieces such as this even on their own website only 1-2 dozen of any item are available at any time. This is a vintage production run we don't believe is still available. The dresser measures 48" wide x 21 3/4" deep x 35 tall. Our warehousing facility located at 190 Chestnut St. Convenient downtown location just minutes away from I-91 and I-90 Masspike.
