As a consequence he formed a company in London which was initially registered as Hobbs & Co. But later Hobbs, Ashley & Co in 1855, Hobbs, Ashley & Fortescue and latterly Hobbs, Hart & Co in 1860. I have not been able to tell how long the locks carried just the name Hobbs & Co name, it may have been just until the first name change in 1855 but may have been continued afterwards. Please be aware the some courier prices to some countries have increased considerably over the last month (as of April 2020). Condition: The box structure is sound with marks, knocks & dents from use, the back corner of the lid is chipped. The lid itself has some cracking on the grain. The original baize to base is in good order.
Comes with a 1 that works the lock. Internally the velvet like lining is in good order with the odd small mark.
